Your eyes do not deceive you my good folk, your emails are not filled with corrupt spam using my good name. It is true.
I am RETURNED!

Like a sovereign of old I arise from my grave to reclaim my mantle and rule over my realm in its time of need.
My last post was in April of 2022. An age ago.
Have I discover some immortal wisdom in my long absence? Did I journey to the lands beyond my humble abode and see wonders the likes of which can change the lives of all who behold them? Did I embark on a quest most noble and become a heroic saviour?
No.
I really didn’t do much of anything?
I supposed that’s the curse of hindsight for you though! You think of all the things you could have done with that time you did nothing with. I look back on the last three years and I couldn’t tell you a single thing I was doing??
I got a job…. that’s about it tbh.
And throughout all these years literally only three… miss girl stop I kept thinking, “I’m going to get my book blog up and running! I’ll start tomorrow!”

Not to excuse my self of my broken promises to myself, but I – like many – really struggle with my mental health these last few years and that ultimately was the cause of my absence. I had little to no energy for anything, not for my daily routines and sadly not for any of my hobbies.
BUT!
Here I be.
And I do be on the mend.
Cured?
Neigh.
Rediscovering all the things that make me love life a little more?
Aye.
And what do I love most in the whole wide cosmos??
Books.
And talking about books.
With you lovely little loves.
So here I am! And here I shall remain! I have RECLAIMED my corner of the internet and you can be sure that I will plague this realm for many centuries to come!!

Even though I didn’t read much in my self imposed exile, that doesn’t mean I didn’t consume stories like a rabid fiend!
I did read some books though! Did I add them all onto my Goodreads or StoryGraph?? No! Do I remember all the books that I read? Nope! Am I going to remember anything from any of those books to write reviews for them?? Absolutely not!
Am I going to do my best for you? You can bet on it!

Books I Read While I Was Presumed Deceased
Ice Planet Barbarians by Ruby Dixon
Ok, I can’t be the only one whose social media was flooded by people reading and loving this book? This is not my usual go to genre, and I have to confess I read it out of curiosity. The book community wouldn’t lie to us. I must say… I was pleasantly surprised with this one! Make no mistake there was more smut than plot, but the plot that was there was enough to keep me turning pages.
I gave this book a 3.5 out of 5 stars (past me remembered to put this one on Goodreads god bless her) and I did read the next few books in the series and they were ok. They did start to get repetitive reading them back to back but honestly I wasn’t mad about it! They were short entertaining reads that would make an excellent palate cleanser between series!

The Bridge Kingdom by Danielle L. Jensen
I had my sights on this one for a while and finally read it. This book had all the markers of being one of my faves! Enemies to lovers, mysterious kingdom, a stabby lady!
However, it sadly wasn’t a five star read for me. I originally rated it 3.5 stars but honestly it’s probably more of a 3 star (that .5 makes a huge difference trust me!!!!!). I really enjoyed the beginning and middle of this book, but the end…. the end was just:

You know those books. Where so many things go wrong, but didn’t have to if the main characters that “confess their love for each other” just sat down and talked… quite literally all of the conflicts at the end between the main characters could have been solved so quickly with a simple conversation.
“Shall I tell my husband, the man I love and wish to protect from my evil father that said evil father sent me here to kill him and ruin his kingdom, that I never had any intention of doing that because I just needed his help to escape my family???? OORRRRRRR, should I wait until my evil father exposes his plans and then my husband and all the people here I befriended think I’m evil too because I never said anything about any of it???”
HMMMMMMM! SUCH A HARD CHOICE GIRLY!!! HOW COULD YOU EVER DECIDE?????
Anyway… plot good, characters bad.

Bound to the Dark Elf King by Jessica Grayson
Do I remember much of anything from this book???? No. No I do not. Did I review? No I did not. COULD I review it?

No.
I can’t tell you what happens or how it happens, but I do remember being entertained!! But… if I can’t remember anything maybe I wasn’t that entertained??
So, this was likely a 3 star read too.

Web Comics I Inhaled While Rotting Abed!
I’ll admit I love a story with some pictures!! And I downloaded Webtoon!!!!
Truly Webtoon is the holy grail of Web Comic reading! There are so many genres and different art styles and story telling techniques all over that site and I will not stop until I have absorbed all there is to offer into my big brain!
My In Laws Are Obsessed With Me! by Seungu , Han Yoon Seo
My all time favourite! It is still not completed yet Sobs but it is, oh so good. I think it’s on hiatus at the moment while the artist and author rightfully get their rest, and I just reread it until the next season releases!!
Genuinely think I’ve reread this series like 8 times by now… I didn’t think to count tbh
It’s a historical, fantasy romance and I just can’t get enough of it. It is a cute fun story that also deals with some heavy and important topics.
The main character Pereshati basically goes back in time (only by a few months) and watches as events repeat themselves after her fathers death and her stepfamily plan to be rid of her so they can have her inheritance, the Countdom. So Pereshati takes steps to avoid that outcome and marries the Grand Duke, Therdeo Lapileon.
oooo
Who basically is like “Heeyyyyy, sorry for killing you a few times with my poisonous blood!! Haha, when we get married can our family run some experiments on you, this family curse is such a bummmerrrrrrr!”
But he has a big old redemption spree and is a big world sized blanket of a green flag!
I highly recommend this webtoon if you’re interested in this genre, this is easily one of the best I’ve ever had the pleasure of reading!
5 out of 5 stars (even though it’s unfinished…. it has earned these stars and I’m sure it will keep being worthy of them!!)

I did read a few other webcomics but honestly I’ve been so consumed with the above comic that they all paled in comparison… But can you ever have too much love for something??? I don’t think so!!!

Video Games I Vanquished In My State of Decompostion!
I thought books were the ultimate form of consuming stories, and truly they are up there.
But I have been indulging in another form of consumption.
Stories that you can interact with!!!!!!
I honestly rarely play online video games, bar a few of my cosy games, like Palia, because the story games is where I find the greatest joy!
And boy did I find a favourite!!!!

Tomb Raider: Definitive Survivor Trilogy

When I tell you I will replay this trilogy forever and ever, you best believe it! Catch me in the nursing home gaming into the night, “NO NURSE! I NEED TO BEAT THIS CHALLENGE TOMB FIRST!!!! NO REST FOR ME UNTIL TRINITY IS DEFEATED!!! DO YOU WANT THE WORLD TO FALL TO RUIN?? DO YA?!?!?“
All three of these games are so story heavy and all the characters have a rich, dimensional air to them that you can’t help but be sucked into their lives. You can’t help but feel apart of their world, involved in their struggles and strife’s, and feel their every emotion as your own.
I have wept playing these games tbh. And when I replay them, I will weep again.
These are open world action-adventure games. I LOOOOOVEEEE open world games so much… You know I explore every crack and crevice I find in these game… NO STONE LEFT UNTURNED!!! I WILL FIND EVERY HIDDEN EASTER EGG!!!

All three games focus on different regions of the world, during different points of history. All the games are based off of an ACTUAL historical tale, or mystery. These games are fictional stories of finding artefacts and treasures that are magical in nature, from our IRL history. And I love that!
The first game is set in Yamatai, Japan. A legendary island that was a Queendom ruled by Queen Himiko who supposedly controlled the weather surrounding the island meaning everyone came and went at her whim. Lara and her crew shipwrecked on the island with seemingly no way off other than to confront the mysteries of the Isle.
The second game is set in Siberia where Lara and Jonah are looking for the Lost mystical City of Kitezh, there they are searching for the divine source (a magical artefact said to bestow immortality) – but they have a clock ticking in their ears because Trinity (the big bad church-government organisation wants the artefact for evillllllll!!!!!!) got their hands on her research and Lara needs to get to it before them!
The third game, and perhaps the most detailed, is in the Southern Americas (Brazil, Peru are the main areas) and focuses on the Aztec, Incan and Mayan histories! There Lara accidently sets in motion a Mayan apocalypse and uses her archaeological skills to find clues to help her find the lost City of Paititi where she can hopefully prevent Trinity getting their hands on the Silver Box of Ix Chel, that they would use to remake the world in their nasty, twisted, most likely ugly little vision.
If you asked me to pick a favourite…. I could not. I love them all. And I hope and pray and use all of my birthday wishes hoping that they keep making more of these games forever and ever!!!!!
These are gorgeously made games and you can tell a lot of love and care went into bringing these games to life. And I will love every little detail every time I play.

What have you guys been up to while I was away?? Anything crazy good happening in your realms?? I am in need of good book recs now that I am returned, THROW THEM AT ME!!! THROW THEM FULL FORCE!!! I’LL CATCH THEM WITH MY FACE!!!!
