Honestly who ever decided to put weapons on the cover was both a genius and a fool.
On one hand, GORGEOUS! Perfectly displays a books stabby content!
But on the other hand… you’ve made TBR’s across the world 5000 times more dangerous. The books have weapons to threaten us with now… we are defenceless against this kind of attack! WE don’t have weapons!!! well… I don’t? Maybe I should get a sword??
That being said… These books do look stunning! Which is all part of their plan isn’t it?? we won’t be able to resist buying something so beautiful and BOOM! We’ve given our TBR exactly what it needs to get at us!
AND SO! To make our TBRs EXTRA inspiring! Here’s a list of 10 books with weapons on the covers!!!

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly bookish meme, hosted by the lovely Jana @ That Artsy Reader Girl, in which readers and bloggers come together to squeal, cry and ooo ‘n’ aaa at books.
Today’s Top Ten Tuesday topic is “Books with [___] On the Cover (Pick a thing (a color, an item, a place, an animal, a scripty font, a sexy person, etc.) and share covers that have that thing on the cover.)”
Weapons.
I’m going to list books with weapons for today’s prompt! If that wasn’t already obvious from the title and the beginning of the post… silly Lin

Because when there are weapons on the cover, then there is bound to be at least one epic fight scene!!
Clicking on the book covers will take you straight to the books respective Goodreads pages so you can check them out too!

Grave Mercy by Robin LaFevers
A crossbow is spicy! When I think of weapons on covers my mind goes to swords and daggers, so this is very nice, and also the overall design and colour scheme is just *chefs’ kiss*.

Graceling by Kristin Cashore
The Graceling books got a cover update last year and I am legally obligated to say… GORGEOUS! LOVELY! STUNNING! SHOW STROPPING! BREATH TAKING!

The Shadows Between Us by Tricia Levenseller
As if seeing just a plain ol’ dagger wasn’t exciting enough, this one is JEWEL ENCRUSTED!!! Very fancy, 10/10!

Warrior of the Wild by Tricia Levenseller
I think Tricia Levenseller and her team have cracked the code on beautiful weapons on covers. I think this one gets bonus points for the mountains! I do love me some mountains!

Empire of Sand by Tasha Suri
Another bejewelled and gorgeous dagger, and to make the heart just that little more happier, the second book has a beautiful carved spear (or is it an arrow???)!

Sherwood by Meagan Spooner
You love to see it! Bow and arrow complete with the proper gear (arm guard and archer gloves)! I used to take an archery class a while ago and I loved it, might have to sign up again. But this cover is simply beautiful, extra points for that scenic view!

All the Stars and Teeth by Adalyn Grace
First of all, I want to mention that this book has mermaids and pirates. So, it’s already scoring points. But those daggers are giving big “swimming underwater at the seaside and something shiny catches your eye and it’s a pearly mermaid dagger” vibes! Enchanting!

Soul of the Sword (Book #2) by Julie Kagawa
A beautiful, beautiful SWORD!!! (that could very well be a katana, but I’ve been staring at this lovely cover for 20 mins and I can’t figure it out AAAAAAAA!) #iwouldgladlybeslainbythissword

To Kill a Kingdom by Alexandra Christo
More pirate and mermaid (technically sirens in this book though, BUT THE VIBES ARE THERE!) books on my list, oh my! How did this happen??
But BEHOLD!
A JEWEL ENCRUSDTED SWORD! BEING GRIPPED BY TENTACLES! (… (¬_¬) why does this sound dirty…)

From Blood and Ash by Jennifer L. Armentrout
TWO! TWO WEAPONS! Does an arrow count as a weapon or just ammunition though??
It doesn’t matter too much because HELLO ARROW AND DAGGER LOOKING ALL CARVED AND ELEGANT!
I’ve yet to read this but I’ve been seeing people loving it left, right and centre and so it is on my TBR!

Do you like seeing cool looking swords and such on book covers?? Do you have a favourite?? What do you love seeing on book covers??
That Graceling cover really has me wishing I’d liked the book more because it is stunning. And that crossbow on Grave Mercy…..*drools*

Fun topic for a list! I don’t read much fantasy, but I do read a lot of murder mysteries and, not surprisingly, there are often weapons on their covers. Not swords usually, though…
Happy TTT (on a Wednesday)!

Ooh these do all look so good – and it’s probably the closest I’ll ever get to holding an actual sword haha 🙂

SAME!! I’d love to have my own sword (mainly for decorative purposes and also so I could be all “I’VE BEEN ON A MIGHTY QUEST!” 😂) but I have no idea where you even BUY a sword in this day and age?? Or even if I could afford it! My books take up most of my funds tbh! 😂

Those are some very cool swords for sure! Have you ever held a sword? I did once and was shocked by how heavy they are.

Aren’t they?!? They’re so gorgeous! I haven’t!! But I’d love to, though I’m now worried I might not have the muscles for it! 😂
