Listen.
I am a simple creature. I see people raving about an author or even just a single book. OR even a single SENTENCE!! FROM THAT BOOK!! I am there. I am looking. And I am very interested.

And then… In a cLaSsIc reader move… They’re still on the tbr… Untouched… unloved.
THAT DOESN’T MEAN I’LL NEVER GET TO THEM! I WILL! soon… eventually

What better way to list them, and guilt myself into finally reading them, (some of these have been on my physical tbr… for an age) than to join in on today’s Top Ten Tuesday!
Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly bookish meme, hosted by the lovely Jana @ That Artsy Reader Girl, in which readers and bloggers come together to squeal, cry and ooo ‘n’ aaa at books.
Today’s topic is “Authors I haven’t read yet but really want to!” And oh boy was it easy to list ten… I could have listed hundreds!
All covers will be linked to their respective Goodreads pages.

Victoria Schwab
I have to admit I have had A Darker Shade of Magic on my physical TBR for so long… so so long. It watches me sleep but yet I am too stupid to heed its warnings of a very painful “I will fall on your face!”
My bed is next to my bookshelves, so they could fall on me anytime they wanted and cause me so much pain, but so far they have been suspiciously merciful? I feel like this should be making me more scared… but yet I’ve been sleeping like a baby these past few weeks?

Morgan Matson
I saw everyone reading (and loving) Save the Date several summers ago and I was in such a “read every cute romantic contemporary book I see” mood… Soooooo, I bought it… that was the end of its journey…. so far!

Kiersten White
I heard these books were stabby. I mean, they’re apparently Vlad the Impaler retellings, and the “Impaler” part sounds super stabby! AND it’s a completed trilogy so I think I’m legally obligated to binge read them!

Renée Ahdieh
I’ve heard nothing but good things about this duology and it’s enemies to lovers, it’s stabby, and apparently the writing is excellent! I am so excited just thinking about it. I literally have no reason to not be reading it right now… I want to read it… SO WHY AREN’T I?

J. R. R. Tolkien
I’ve loved the Lord of the Rings movies for as long as I can remember and I’ve wanted to read the books just as long. My family bought me the Lord of the Rings trilogy and The Hobbit a few Christmas’ agooooo.
…
I don’t think I need to tell you about my lack of progress here…

Rick Riordan
Oh, I’ve only added these to every seasonal and otherwise TBR I’ve ever made. Have I read them yet? No. Do I still want to? Absolutely. I hear great things, apparently they’re witty and I love me a witty book!

Evelyn Sky
Apprentice warriors who want to become fully fledged warriors to protect their Kingdom and end up going undercover together to uncover an evil plot? Yes. Yes please, Evelyn Skye knows exactly what I need in my life!

Hafsah Faizal
I followed Hafsah Faizal on the Twitter for fun writing and reader content and then my feed was blessed with the beautiful synopsis and cover of her book (when I was still active on Twitter… I’m not anymore. did someone say toxic waste dump?) and I pre-ordered it immediately. I am still just as excited about this book as I was back then if not moreee!!! I just know this is one is going to be one of those books that I’m going to read in one sitting!

Chloe Gong
I’ve been seeing These Violent Delights EVERYWHERE and I’m not mad about it. In fact. The exact opposite. I surprisingly haven’t had the book spoiled – for all I see it but from what I do know. It’s my kind of a book!

Amanda Joy
Ok, so! Sister rivalry (due to tradition – which might make me sad… THEY COULD BE A POWERFUL DUO!!! *sobs*)… but they’re Royal! And there is MAGIC! I am most excited!! THE MOST!

What authors do you really want to read? Which ones have you been meaning to read the longest? Have you read any of the books I’ve read? Scream at me to read them asap!
Haven’t we all got one of these lists, haha?! I hope you enjoy these if/when you do get around to them!

Oh, Schwab could have made my list, as well! I forgot about her. I adore Matson, and Save the Date was so much fun. She also released a follow-up Christmas short story for it, and it was very cute, too. I remember really enjoying And I Darken but I haven’t managed to continue the series. I think I’d have to start over because I’ve forgotten everything. 😉 I finally finished The Lord of the Rings trilogy last year, after having about 10 years between the second and third book. 😬 They were a struggle for me. I ended up using the audiobook to finish, which helped. But if you love the films, you’ll probably enjoy them! And I’ve wanted to read The Lightning Thief for years, as well. I hope you get to pick up some of these soon!

I know right? I have so many of Schwabs’ books too, because I kept seeing people talk about how amazing they were I just bought them! And then… didn’t read them… > . < The shame!!!!!!! Oooo, when I finish reading Save the date I will look for that xmas short story for sure! I've heard that the Lord of the Rings trilogy is hard to get immersed in, but here's hoping I at least get around to picking them up!! 😂

Schwab and Riordan are a couple of my all time favorite authors. Happy reading!

I’m not much into SFF, so I haven’t read a lot of these authors either. I have read a couple of White’s (back when she was a new author), the first Percy Jackson (although my kids DEVOURED anything written by Riordan), and LOTR. I hope you enjoy all these when (if) you get to them – no pressure 🙂
Happy TTT!

I swear every time I talk about books I haven’t read I say something along the lines of “I’ll read this next!” But then I forget and then I don’t read it and this just continues in a cycle forever! 😭
Thank you! Please feel free to apply the pressure, I need it!!

Ah, I’m glad you love her books! Save the Date is the only one of hers I own (and have owned for awhile but still haven’t read 😭) but I’ve definitely got some of her other books on my radar! Thank you! ❤

I may have added them all to my TBR after seeing people talk about how amazing they are! 😂

It does! It gives me big Summer Vibes! The Bookish Folk say that the book itself is also really cute, so I’m looking forward to picking it up!

Heh, I do the same thing! If only we all had endless time to read, eh? 🙂
