Books That Had Me Questioning If I Sent The Author a Detailed Character Sheet Of Myself

You know when you’re reading and it gets to a certain point when you start to feel a bit like a piece of you is shining out of the pages??

And you’re sitting there like, “Pretty sure I didn’t send the author a piece of my soul??” AND YET! There it is!

UNDENIABLE PROOF!!!

Now! Does this mean this book is just a beautiful archetype that we as readers easily see ourselves in?

OR!

Is this author guilty of witchcraft??

Very suspicious…

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly bookish meme, hosted by the lovely Jana @ That Artsy Reader Girl, in which readers and bloggers come together to squeal, cry and ooo ‘n’ aaa at books.

Today’s prompt is “Book Titles That Describe Me/My Life!”

Some of these I can pin point exactly what makes me feel so connected to it but the others are quite simply just:

THAT’S MEEEEE!

Sorcery of Thorns by Margaret Rogerson

This one was one of those books where I sat there going “That’s so me!” about almost everything! Every decision Elisabeth made had me nodding, and then Nathaniel and Silas were introduced and I was like hey I would vibe with these people!!

So, how did I get into this book?? Are me and the author and everyone that’s read this book secretly the same person??? Or does someone have a psychic link with me that I’m not aware of???

The Bear and the Nightingale by Katherine Arden

My girl Vasilisa just wanted to go a little forest creature crazy! And I think we all deserve the freedom to be wild forest critters (without the extreme dangers of spirits wanting to eat our livers though)!

This book had my goblin/gremlin inclined brain all:

Cress (Book #3 of The Lunar Chronicles) by Marissa Meyer

Now! I’ll confess Rapunzel is my fave fairy tale so I was having a grand time before I started reading this one but when I did… HARD RELATE!

Cress is just watching the world go by from her room which feels so much like my life that I just:

ALTHOUGH Cress was basically a prisoner and technically I could leave whenever I want to… but my books are in here soooooooo where would I go other than to get more books? which only worsens the problem tbh

The Darkest Part of the Forest by Holly Black

I don’t think anyone’s surprised to see this one… all my vibes compacted into a 328 paged beauty!

What books would you say feel like a piece of you?? What aspects of yourself do you commonly find in books?? Is there one book that you would use as ID when someone asks who you are?? Just slide it across the table like “this is me bestie!”
