I don’t think we need to do a survey on this one.
I can quite confidently state that anyone who has picked up a book in their lives has been emotionally obliterated by one!
Whether it’s because of the characters struggles and losses, over a plotline that destroys any fragile hope of a happy ending or just because the story has come to an end and there are no more pages to read.
I know you’ve shed a few!
The powers that be know that I’ve cried over books enough that I could add a river to my village!
But surely reading and experiencing so much heartbreak would build up an endurance overtime right???
RIGHT?!?!?!

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly bookish meme, hosted by the lovely Jana @ That Artsy Reader Girl, in which readers and bloggers come together to squeal, cry and ooo ‘n’ aaa at books.
Today’s prompt is “April Showers!” First thing that came to my head was books that lead to my books getting a shower!!! Out of tears…
A lot of these books I’ve discovered through Bookstagrammers, bloggers and quite literally while I was at work and heard someone talking to their friend about how it destroyed them! Had to get my phone out real quick to look it up!

I’ve seen people crying about this one while simultaneously singing its praises – so of course I have to see what it’s all abooouuuutt!!!! To be honest I wasn’t that nervous about it until I received my copy in the post…
HUGE!
That’s a lot of pages for things to go wrong…
I’ve concocted this nice little lie that the author is actually super kind and has included about 300 pages of all the characters being happy at the end! SO KIND!

The Song of Achilles by Madeline Miller
I know I’m late to this one, and it has sat on my TBR for aaaaaages! I’ve been delaying it on purpose… I read spoilers so I know what’s coming! I DON’T KNOW IF MY LITTLE HEART CAN HANDLE IT!
IF I’M CRYING NOW HOW MUCH WORSE WILL IT BE WHEN I START READING?!?!?!?

This is How You Lose the Time War by Amal El-Mohtar & Max Gladstone
Low key…. I was like “oooooo! A Doctor Who- esque romance book!!! YIPPPPEEEEE!!!!”
I read some of the non-spoiler reviews…

The Farseer Trilogy by Robin Hobb
I’ve been seeing nothing but raving reviews from readers far and wide! An all consuming, beautifully crafted fantasy… that makes people cry…

The House in the Cerulean Sea by TJ Klune
First thing I know about this book is that it has one of my favourite tropes in it!! Found Familyyy!!!!

Second thing I know is that 67% of readers listed it as emotional…

Malice by John Gwynne
I think this ones going to make me cry for the main character… young fella who thinks being a warrior would be epic and full of adventure is forced to pick up a weapon due to dire circumstances…

The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins
I KNOW!!! I’M LATE TO ALL THE GOOD ONES!
But I’ve cheated here and I’ve already seen the movies several times! And I sob during those every time I watch them, but I really want to read all the books before the new Haymitch movies comes out!

What books are on your TBR that you think will make you cry??? What was the last book that made you cry??

May you enjoy all of them! I can say that some of them are tearjerkers for sure, but i don’t want to share spoilers. 🙂
