Conjure.
SUCH A GOOD WORD!
I wish I was capable of conjuring.

“Oooooooo! Freshly baked cinnamon bun, appear before me nnnnnnneeeeEEEEOW!”
That’s about the extent I’d use that power for tbh.
I’m just a girl whose hungry for baked goods with little access to buy said baked goods, meaning I can only make them myself…
Some of those super, delicious pastries take a long time to make too! There are not enough hours in the day for me to make the treats!!!
Which means I go TREATLESS!
You see how this is a tragedy right??

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly bookish meme, hosted by the lovely Jana @ That Artsy Reader Girl, in which readers and bloggers come together to squeal, cry and ooo ‘n’ aaa at books.
Today’s topic is “Books that conjure up happy memories!”

Matilda by Roald Dahl
I think all of Roald Dahl’s work brings up happy memories for me. Myself and the siblings got a box set of a lot of his books from my grandparents one year and I loved them! Matilda was my favourite (also loved the movie as a kid) but I have a soft spot for The BFG too.

Pegasus and the Flame by Kate O’Hearn
I first picked up these books from my school library (I was looking for Percy Jackson but it was already out – shamefully, to this day, I still haven’t read PJ) and it was the first book I devoured in one sitting. I went back to the library and got the next two books IMMEDIATELY, and sadly for little 12 year old me. This would be the series that gave me my first ever reading slump!
The fourth book had just been released and the next was a long wait away! Felt like Bella Swan at her window at the time!

Snow Like Ashes by Sara Raasch
This was the first book I bought myself! THE BEGINNING TO MY OWN GLORIOUS LIBRARY!
Also, completely different to how I run now, I bought every sequel as it released and read them immediately! No leaving them on the TBR to simmer. No forgetting everything that happened in the last book(s) and having to schedule a reread that I never get around to -_-
SHE WAS CRAZY!
Older me can only dream of such habits!
But then I suppose I didn’t have a job??? Maybe that’s the trouble??

An Enchantment of Ravens by Margaret Rogerson
I read this for the first time and, I kid you not, stars aligned for me to read it!
It was Autumn. All was orange outside. I had my window open. There was a thunderstorm rolling in! I had a bowl of choccie snacks to nibble and my water + iced coffee on hand.
I FLEW through these pages!
And loved every second!
Margaret Rogerson is one of my favourite authors to date, and thinking about reading my first book by her (and also her debut at that!!) fills me with joy!

The Illuminae Files by Amie Kaufman and Jay Kristoff
I had bought this trilogy all at once and it sat on my shelf for a while, mainly because I thought I wouldn’t enjoy the format.

I LOVED THEM! WHO WAS I KIDDING?!?!
I’ve now read them several times and will read them several more.
But I think all readers know the feeling! When you start a book you’re not sure of and you hit a certain point where you’re like “NOW HOLD UP! This was written for me, wasn’t it??”
This was one of those for me. Everything I wanted and never knew I wanted in a book!

What books bring you untold joy?? Do we share any?? What would you do if you had the power to conjure stuff up literally??
